Poet & Educator

Sabrina Spence is poet and theatre-lover from Memphis. Her poems have been published or are forthcoming in NonBinary Review, Papeachu Review, Poets.org, Southern Humanities Review, Torch, West Trestle Review, and elsewhere, as well as curated for exhibits at Connect Gallery in Chicago. Sabrina has performed spoken word for ALSAC/St. Jude, served as an Interactive Poet at Dixon Gallery and Gardens, and was named an honorable mention in the 2025 AWP Intro Journals Project. She holds an MFA from the University of Memphis where she teaches.

Stradling the line between lyric and narrative modes, her poetry grapples with themes of racism, sexism, misogynoir, the expression of Black Southern culture, womanhood, and generational grief in its myriad forms.
